Industrial concession operators frequently manage significant areas of forest, degraded land, riparian zones, mangroves, seagrass beds, and coastal ecosystems alongside their core operations. These areas are not just environmental liabilities to be managed for compliance — they are natural capital assets whose condition affects ecosystem services, biodiversity values, carbon stocks, and increasingly, financial value through nature-based financing instruments. Effective management requires systematic planning, operational protocols, and monitoring systems that most companies have not yet developed.
Develop integrated management plans for each ecosystem type covering protection measures, restoration activities, buffer zone management, and monitoring protocols.
Assess blue carbon project feasibility for mangrove and coastal wetland areas. Evaluate nature-based finance instrument options. Develop technical documentation for conservation finance application if viable.
Support establishment of management programs and field operations. Develop monitoring program for ecosystem condition indicators. Prepare annual ecosystem management reports for permit compliance and ESG disclosure.
